Start It Out Here In Bethlehem

VERSE 1

How can I show the loving grace I have for them?
How will they know forgiveness from My heart?
I will go down, and live a life as one of them,
A man when grown, a baby from the start.

CHORUS 1

Start it out here in Bethlehem,
Show them all how to love each other,
I have chosen Bethlehem,
Joseph and Mary, husband and mother,
Tell My prophets, Bethlehem.
Tell them that this begins the story.
Start it out as a baby man,
Grow to fill the world with glory.

VERSE 2

How can I show that humble seed can grow a King?
A simple birth, no room to lay My head.
I will proclaim, with shouts of angels, "Born the King!"
Yet they will see a simple life instead.

(REPEAT CHORUS)

VERSE 3

How can I preach the words of life I have for them?
How can I reach the sick, and blind, and lame?
I'll stand and teach on hillsides and among their towns,
I'll heal the sick, so they will know My name.

(REPEAT CHORUS)

VERSE 4

How can I show that I know pain and suffering?
Temptation comes, and I know how it feels?
I'll give My life, in sacrifice redeeming them,
Through death I'll show compassion that is real.

CHORUS 2

Start it out here in Bethlehem,
Show them all how to love each other,
I have chosen Bethlehem,
Joseph and Mary, husband and mother,
Tell My prophets, Bethlehem.
Tell them that this begins the story.
Start it out as a baby lamb,
Grow to fill the world with glory.

VERSE 5

How can I show that I am man, yet God again?
I will arise from death and from the grave.
I will proclaim, "Behold, I am your risen King,
"I have become the Lamb of God who saves!"

(REPEAT CHORUS 2 & 1)

BRIDGE

And let the angels proclaim
That I am coming yet again,
And let the angels proclaim this time
I am the risen King.
And let the angels proclaim
That I have saved you from your sin,
And let the angels proclaim in Me
The dead will live again, and

(REPEAT CHORUS 1 & 2)
