I wrote a poem, just for you,
Didn't know what you'd do,
So I put it in my pocket, left it there,
'Til that shirt got washed, and hung in the air,
And then the words dried out, and blew away,
And someone heard a man exclaim,
"Would you listen to that,
Would ya looky there,
There's a song that's blowin' in the air..."
Might be a poem for my girl,
Might be a song just for you,
It might be words from someone else,
But he wrote it with my point of view!
Might be a melody I knew somewhere,
It might be somethin' new,
Might be a poem for my girl,
A song for you!
