CCLI SONG NUMBERS

I now have a catalog of ten (10) songs licensed for church use with Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI). My intention is to submit other songs as I get them completed and copyrighted. CCLI does not actually provide the sheet music, but licenses the "fixation" or copying of songs, which you must still obtain from the publisher (this web site, in my case). Please see the CCLI web site for terms of the Church Copyright License and the SongSelect service, which does provide lyrics (and audio clips and leadsheets, if I ever get them provided). For my own thoughts on what "fixation activity" means in relation to PDF files, please see below.

Songs licensed for Church use under the provisions of Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI), www.ccli.com, may be used in any congregational worship, church service, Christian group meeting, or ministry under the terms of the CCLI Church Copyright License. For commercial recordings, publishing, broadcast, or paid performance, contact me at brent(a)jbcmusic.com to initiate contract negotiations. See this file for songs not (or until) licensed under CCLI.

The following are my personal thoughts (not necessarily sanctioned by CCLI or any lawyer) pertaining to the definition of "fixation activity" under CCLI, in regard to the distribution of these songs principally as digital sheet music (PDF) files:

  1. Purchase, downloading, and unzipping the files onto one (1) computer and printing one (1) copy of each score, lead sheet, chord sheet, or lyric is to be considered the same as purchasing the printed sheet music from a store, and is not a "fixation activity" under CCLI.

  2. After the initial "purchase copy" is printed, all further printing, reformatting, copying, or distribution of any score, lead sheet, chord sheet, or lyrics in any form is to be considered a "fixation activity" under CCLI.

  3. E-mailing the files to members of a church, music ministry, ministry team, choir, etc. is to be considered a "fixation activity" for each instance or address. Members receiving files electronically must abide by the provisions of the corporate Church Copyright License.

  4. These files may NOT be further distributed on any web site, ftp site, publicly shared file directory, electronic bulletin board, or computer network without the express written permission of the Author.

  5. Audio and video tapes containing these songs may be made and distributed solely under the provisions of the CCLI Church Copyright License.

    If you do use and record any of these songs and can get it into a digital format, please send me a copy. I would like some recordings of the songs, both as a personal interest in seeing what other people do with them, and with an ear toward possibly including clips on the website.
