PAT

Where are you going my friend?
Why does the day become so late?

“I am going to the distant Land of Lullabies,
      Beyond Heaven’s gates.

      The distant Land of Lullabies
      Of it you may have heard;
Lies beyond the flight of butterflies,
To an air filled with kind words.

In the distant Land of Lullabies,
      You can clearly hear,
      The sonnets of the songbirds,
      The whisper of the deer.

      The lilies of the valleys
Chime out songs with every breeze.
This is the place my love has brought me,
To spend my life in peace.

They say that death has no sting,
Of this you must be consoled.
All I feel is love and peace,
      My Savior’s tender hold.

Do not despair the end of my earthly days,
For my life will now unfold:
In the distant Land of Lullabies,
Through Heaven’s gates with my Lord.”
