Abandon for Love

I beckon to you daily, but you just look away.
You do not sit still enough to listen when I speak.

I've called you in the nights and in the light of day.
You are too busy with your supposedly productive ways.

I speak to you in nature.
I sing to you in songs.
But you look right past me in your longing to press on.

In the silence of your soul you seek me each day.
Your ears are too dulled with worldly concerns that keep my voice at bay.
Why do you inquire of me then ignore my simple response?
For I will not speak to you through your religious activities,
even though they are for us.

Be still and know that I am God.
Enter my rest and hear my voice.
Come sup with me at my table, so you may feed others.

Stop the practice of religious expression
and worship me in your innermost being,
for distraction courts you and deception approaches.
Read my word.
Drink of me.
Walk in the footsteps of my Son, not Moses.

I have redeemed you and rejoiced in you.
Enter my Grace and apprehend it fully, then you shall have rest.
Those that goad and mock you for sitting by my streams in stillness
will seek you in the day of Great Terror.
Your roots will grow deep fed by my streams
and your branches spread forth to the sky.
The birds of the air shall rest in your arms and my love will surround you.
You will be shade to the withering.
Be still.
